First night in Savannah

Well, I’m writing this post as Steph and I relax in the comfort of a sea of feather down and plush pillows in quaint, historic Savannah, Georgia.
Its the first night of our anniversary weekend, and we’re already wowed by the atmosphere inside the Chatham Suite Bed and Breakfast. The suite itself, owned and run by the Armstrong family who are well known in Savannah, keeps with the historic theme of downtown Savannah. Inside, it has a classic country, artsy feel that makes it seems like you’re staying in a log cabin mansion. The owner, Mr. Armstrong, is an artist, and it’s his paintings that are on the walls of our suite, and on the walls of their office building which doubles as the Armstrong’s beautiful home.
The two story suite is stocked with pastries and croissants and fruit and wine and just about anything else you could want, and as with any good bed and breakfast, the supply is endless.
After arriving around 9 p.m., we unpacked and made our way to the Six Pence Pub for dinner, where Steph had pot roast and mashed taters, and I ate a Reuben sandwich with coleslaw and washed it down with an Irish Snakebite.
We’re looking forward to sleeping in, then seeing what the town has to offer on Saturday. Then we’ll celebrate our first year of marriage on Sunday!
